We know that legal issues are often key to a family's ability to be safe and build a new life. Our Legal Program provides legal advice and representation to survivors of domestic violence with cases in Probate and Family Court. This court handles issues such as divorce, child custody, visitation and support, as well as abuse and stalking prevention orders. Our Legal Program Advocate is an attorney with experience in family matters. Based on your eligibility and needs, she may provide one or more of the following:
- Initial case consultation and process advice.
- Assistance with court documents and preparation for court appearances without representation.
- Referral for representation to one of our panel attorneys. Subsidized representation may be provided for income-eligible individuals. Due to limited funds, most clients are referred to our panel attorneys on a private-pay basis.
You can contact the Legal Program Advocate by calling the office and asking for the Legal Program Advocate.
