A Cherry Popped Quick
Anonymous
The flick of a BIC was heard,
its flame gently lighting the room.
A quick inhale first,
and then an exhale,
labored and dry.
He puffed on his
freshly lit cigarette,
Marlboro Light.
She slowly got up,
walked to the toilet,
and sat down to pee,
legs trembling
on the seat.
He turned to her,
sweat dripping down
his princely face,
the scent of cheap cologne
filling the air.
A hard grin,
a soft blink,
and a drop of her blood in the
toilet bowl.
And he managed to form the words:
“Good, huh?”
She turned away softly,
tears dripping down
her once untouched face.
“Yeah…”
